Lamesha's StoryÂ
Let me tell you a little story…
Since the very beginning, I’ve always loved speaking in front of people. I was that kindergartner who didn't draw herself as a princess or superhero during our year-end project—I drew a lawyer. No lie—my mom still has the drawing!
As I grew up, I started competing in state and local speaking competitions. I loved the stage, loved connecting with people, and eventually followed that passion to the University of Florida, where I earned a degree in Human Services.
That’s when I stepped into the real world… and found myself in a trainer role.
Here’s the truth: I had no idea how to train. My only qualifications were that I’d worked in the field longer than my participants—and I was really good at my job.
Sure, I had solid communication skills from all those years of speaking and performing… but teaching adults? That was a whole different challenge. I was suddenly standing in front of groups for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 8 weeks straight. Whew.
And despite all the effort my team and I poured in, the feedback rolled in:
“Training was boring.”
“I didn’t learn anything.”
“My supervisor told me to forget everything from training.”
Ouch.
But I didn’t quit. I committed. I studied, practiced, and eventually mastered the craft of training and facilitation.
So why CREATE TRAINING COURSES?
Because I know what it’s like to be the one everyone blames when things go wrong—even a year after the training is over.
I know what it’s like to be dismissed as “just a trainer.”
I know the exhaustion of carrying a whole learning experience on your back… and still being told it wasn’t enough.
But here’s the truth:
You are not worthless.
Training is hard—mentally and physically.
And great facilitation is a skill, not a default.
That’s why I created this space—so we could lift each other up.
With over 10 years of experience, I will combine my expertise as a child welfare professional, curriculum designer, and master trainer to create engaging, transformative learning experiences to enhance your skills!
